Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes th Quartzite Tier so durable?

We broadcast premium quartz aggregates into two coats of industrial-grade epoxy, creating a stratified ⅜″ layer. It’s then sealed with two polyaspartic topcoats—offering UV resistance, hot-tire durability (yes, even EVs), and long-lasting wear under heavy use.

2. Can these finishes be used outdoors or in moisture-prone areas?

Yes. Our quartz and flake systems and stain + color systems are UV-stable and suitable for exterior applications like patios or pool decks.
For moisture-prone zones (like bathrooms or steam rooms), we apply liquid waterproof membranes to prevent water intrusion and protect your finish.

3. Do floors need special cleaning or maintenance?

Not at all. A routine sweep or mop with mild soapy water is enough. Abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals are not needed. A kit with a Swiffer-like microfiber mop and 5 years of maintenance finish are provided upon request. These finishes resist mold growth and stay hygienically seamless.

4. What about coverage rates and how much material I'll need?

Coverage varies by finish type.

  • Quartz Broadcast: embedded into epoxy base coats

  • Flake Systems: broadcast over epoxy to create texture
For precise quantities, we reference manufacturer data (like Torginol’s Coverage Calculator) and always include a little extra to account for prep and broadcast density.

5. What prep work is required before coating?

Proper prep is non-negotiable:

  • Mechanical grinding or shot blasting to open pores and remove contaminants

  • Crack and height leveling up to ½″ difference

  • Vapor barrier application to mitigate slab moisture (when detected).

  • Neutralizing washes to ensure proper adhesion

6. How thick will the finished floor be?

The Quartz and Flake finish is typically ⅜″ thick. That includes the epoxy+quartz broadcast layer and is sealed with two polyaspartic clear coats. It’s a robust, high-performance system designed for real-world use. Epoxy is credit card thin and polyaspartic is even “thinner for a winner” utilizing the strength of the slab as its reinforcement.

7. What’s the difference between epoxy, polyaspartic, and microcement?

  • Epoxy: creates a self-leveling, durable base coat

  • Polyaspartic: fast-curing, UV-resistant clear topcoat

  • Microcement used for seamless vertical and horizontal applications, waterproof surfaces, and thin overlays
Our systems combine these technologies to ensure beauty, function, and weather resistance—even outdoors.

8. Can you fix cracks or level an uneven slab?

Absolutely. We use high-strength, resinated crack fillers and diamond grinding to level slabs. Self levelers and homing machines can flatten floors up to 3/4” off.

9. How long does installation take?

For a typical 2-car garage: 3-5 days depending on quality of the slab. DOn’t be fooled by “One Day Garage floors” we like to let our slabs drry, cure and get done ONCE and for ALL.

  • Prep & crack repair Vapor barrier 1 day

  • Epoxy/Aggregates: another 1–2 days

  • Polyaspartic topcoats: 1 day

  • Finish-to-foot traffic is usually just 24 hours later.

10. Is there a warranty or guarantee?

Yes. All our quartz, flake and color + clear coat systems include a Lifetime adhesion warranty, plus we offer optional extended coverage to the finish coat with a mop on regimen..
